KUALA LUMPUR - The 8th edition of Asean Elenex 2009, the international
exhibition of transmission & distribution and electrical engineering
for the Asian region, will be held from 15-18 July at Kuala Lumpur
Convention Centre. Having witnessed huge success in previous years,
the show has become an important avenue for energy players to converge.
Spread across an area of 5,000sqm, the event again expects to see
participation of over 9,000 visitors from more than 40 countries.
The display of products and technologies will include automation
& control systems, wires & ducting systems, electrical & electronic
accessories, cables & connectors, energy conservation & renewable
technologies, lighting systems & controls, switchgears, safety &
security equipment, power generation & process control technologies.

the exhibition is expected to boost growth for the electric, electronics

Generating Opportunities
DELHI The 4th edition of India Electricity, an exhibition cum conference
on the energy sector, power distribution and transmission, is scheduled
to be held from 10-12 September at Pragati Maidan. The show offers
the right opportunity for manufacturers and suppliers to display
their latest products, services and solutions, make new business
contacts and strengthen existing ones. On display will be equipment
for power transmission, electrical and electronic components, cables,
conductors and accessories, lighting, lamps & fixtures, electricity

SEATTLE - The NECA Show, an expo for the electrical, power and cabling
industry, will offer electrical professionals a firsthand experience
with the latest innovations in tools, system controls, software
and business services. The exhibitors will present hands-on technical
workshops daily, and these 50-minute interactive sessions will give
attendees a chance to learn more about installations and capabilities
of electrical products. Seminars such as ‘Go Green by Achieving
Energy Efficiency’ will offer discussions on what drives data center
power consumption and what the industry is doing to improve data
center efficiency. This electrical show is a once-a-year opportunity
for large and small electrical contractors to meet manufacturers,
utilities, inventors, distributors, consultants and engineers. More
than 200 vendors are expected at the 2009 NECA Show at Washington
State Convention & Trade Center from 12-15 September, 2009. NECA
2008, held in Chicago, saw an impressive number of electrical contracting
professionals attending management seminars, product-and-services
exhibits and general sessions. According to the exhibitors, this
year will see double the number of technical workshops and more
pre-convention workshops than ever before. The 2008 show included
numerous resources for electrical contractors developing energy
solutions for clients with sustainable building goals. It marked
the first time NECA has partnered with the US Green Building Council
(USGBC) to produce ‘LEED for New Construction Technical Review’,
a full-day programme for contractors and project managers. Other
workshops included LED lighting and business opportunities in solar
photo-voltaic installations. Over 300 exhibitors from across the
electrical construction industry participated and drew over 10,000
visitors. The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA)
is the voice of the $130 billion industry responsible for bringing
electrical power, lighting, and communications to buildings and
communities across the United States.

Gaining Popularity
MUMBAI - Index Light, showcasing lighting fixtures and accessories,
will be held during 18-22 September at Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.

Lighting Extravaganza
MOSCOW – The international trade fair for light in interiors - Light
Russia - is scheduled to be held from 21-23 September at Crocus
Expo International Exhibition Center. Visitors can look forward
to an extravagant display of trendy lamps, including incandescent,
tungsten andhigh intensity discharge. Also on display will be high
frequency electrode-lesslamps, indoor and outdoor lighting, sport
and architectural lighting, emergency and safety lighting for bridges,
tunnels, roads and expressways, lighting accessories and components,
dimmers and controllers, along with processing and testing equipment
for lighting products. According to organisers Messe Frankfurt,
the event will give a new edge to the lighting sector, as it will
